“In every cancer journey, there’s this place where you realize, ‘Oh my God, I have cancer,’ and then realize, ‘You have to find peace in this.’ And then you have to dare to dream again. In this piece, I wrote a section, which is a repetitive loop of resonance that I feel great when I play and the players love to play it. And I say in the score, ‘Play until you find peace.’ It’s like a little meditation.”
